Job Title: Respite Aide for Summer Respite Program
Location: Geneva site
Salary: $16.00 per hour
Employment: June 30th-July 3rd and August 18th-August 22nd, Monday through Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm
Summary/Objective: The Respite Aide provides care in a safe and positive environment to youth attending the summer program.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or currently enrolled in high school (working papers required).
- Experience working with children
- Demonstrates basic reasoning skills

Responsibilities include:
- Imparts agency philosophy of ?Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential? to children, families, program staff and community resources.
- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Adheres to agency?s policies and procedures as well as department and OPWDD guidelines.
- Help to provide all youth in the program with enjoyable, fun and safe recreational and social experiences.
- Serve as an appropriate role model and engage in interactions which promote and ensure the dignity and rights of all participants, service providers, coworkers and community members.
- Reports any issues or concerns to supervisor as soon as possible.
- Assist youth with group activities as assigned by the Program Supervisor
- Assist youth with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, toileting, etc) as needed
- Provides direct visual supervision at all times for youth within their group
- Communicate with parents verbally or in writing on a regular basis.
- Completes and submits billing documentation, representative of the service delivered.
- Performs other duties at the discretion of the Program Supervisor or his/her designee
