Job Summary:
The Citizen Pie Restaurant Manager Assistant is a supervisory role that ensures the daily operation of Citizen Pie including assisting the Restaurant Manager and daily operations of all food and beverage protocols, and upholding company policies and procedures while also providing excellent guest experience.
The CP Restaurant Manager Assistant will be paid $18.00 per hour minimum guarantee.
Accountabilities:
The Restaurant Manager Assistant will be accountable for successfully executing the following responsibilities:
Team Management
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new employees.
- Assist in developing, motivating, and managing line level employees.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to all line level employees.
- Promote positive communication between all employees.
- Oversee daily staff performance, review goals, inspect progress, and discuss events and operations.
- Handle day to day employee conflicts.
- Assist in scheduling of line level employees.
Operations Management
- Ensure that all guests receive outstanding service by leading team to provide a friendly environment and maintaining all components of guest service.
- Follow all opening, running, and closing procedures such as setting up, maintaining cleanliness, and closing and securing the store.
- Support in all daily restaurant operations including product quality and consistency, service, accurate preparation and sale of products, and inventory management.
- Support control of labor costs through oversight of shift labor and reducing labor by making cuts if sales are below projections.
- Support in costs of goods control by reducing waste and preventing over-portioning/over-pouring, etc.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the restaurant facilities and equipment.
- Receive, investigate, and act upon guest complaints as instructed by the Restaurant Manager. Share all guest feedback with the Restaurant Manager.
- Maintain clear communication in shift logs. This includes staff issues, guest complaints, maintenance issues, shift details, 86d items, and any questions that arise about procedures and operations.
- Ensure that all procedures and standards are upheld including, food and beverage, security, safety, and health code standards.
- Ensure accurate clock in and clock out times and breaks of all reports during shifts.
- Participate in all training sessions and meetings as required.
Financial Acumen
- Oversee accurate transaction processing, cash handling, and point-of-sale system use.
- Handle cash and manage register operations including reconciling cash drawers and performing safe counts.
Collaborations
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager in weekly meeting to ensure alignment of goals and discuss staffing levels and performance, facility needs, special events, etc.
- Collaborate with the Sales Department as instructed by the Restaurant Manager to ensure exceptional execution of all events and to assist in implementation of marketing, advertising, community programs and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with Human Resources as instructed by the Restaurant Manager on all aspects of personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, training and development, discipline, discharge, performance reviews, and reporting employee injuries.
- Collaborate with Accounting as instructed by the Restaurant Manager on all aspects of financial management, including daily reconciliation, cash management, accurate reporting, and coding of all invoices.
- Collaborate with outside vendors for product deliveries, invoicing, technical support and maintenance.

Qualifications Required:
- Must be at least (21) years of age
- Food Safety Certification preferred or in-depth experience with food safety, alcohol service requirements and safety standards
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Work hours, at times, may be irregular
- Strong task and time management skills
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Preferably 2 years of experience in food and beverage service
- Organizational, critical problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Must display ethical conduct and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in managing employees and staff performance
- Technical aptitude to utilize company systems, POS systems, email, and Microsoft Office products
- Possess leadership skills and can effectively lead a shift
- Good verbal and written communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to address conflict quickly and effectively
- Ability to give clear directions and respond to inquiries
- Related experience in a dynamic restaurant atmosphere
- Experience using common kitchen equipment
- Comprehension of basic mathematics skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must meet physical requirements to effectively perform job responsibilities, which includes frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, ability to traverse stairs with no difficulty, utilization of hands, and lifting up to fifty pounds.
