What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Attorney (cpa firm) position at CPA Firm?
Professional Accounting and Legal Services firm seek a Tax Attorney with 5 or more years of experience preferred in the following areas: federal and state tax controversy, tax settlement negotiations, administrative and judicial appeals experience, foreign tax, estate, gift and trust expertise, document drafting, and estate administration.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and review of wills, contracts, and other legal documents from a tax and business perspective
- Provide advice to clients on how to solve or settle issues with IRS and become tax compliant
- Advise clients on a full spectrum of individual, partnership, or corporate tax services including planning, research, or other mergers and acquisition activities
- Conduct legal research on various issues
- Prepare or review tax returns for clients and business entities with complex needs
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings and opportunities to clients
Qualifications:
- Attorney admitted to a State Bar
- 3 plus years’ experience in the tax or legal field, with focus on tax matters
- Prior experience in legal research in state & federal tax matters
- Organized and mindful of both deadlines and budgets
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Adobe and PDF management/manipulation
- Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong analytical skills
The following skills and experience are desired, but not required:
- Experience working for the IRS, state tax agency, judge, or an attorney general’s office
- Tax Litigation Experience
- Preparation of individual tax returns
- QuickBooks experience
Salary : $100,000 - $165,000
