CPA / Law firm seeks a Tax Attorney for our National Tax Controversy Team.

Primarily, the ideal candidate will manage and work tax controversy cases (disputes with the IRS and state and local tax agencies, negotiations, etc.).
You will be collaborating with our team of professionals in managing your and our Firm’s respective controversy case load.
Responsibilities
Balance multiple priorities demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling client responsibilities and deliver a high-quality work product
Serve as the client’s trusted advisor, identify client issues and conflicts, and proactively communicate solution options to the client and team
Will interact independently with the IRS, NJ Division of Taxation, other state agencies and our clients, with respect to the resolution of their client cases
Managing a caseload of tax controversy cases and take responsibility for managing all timelines for such controversy matters
Qualifications
Attorney admitted to a State Bar
3 plus years’ experience in the tax or legal field, with focus on tax matters
Prior experience in legal research in state & federal tax matters
Organized and mindful of both deadlines and budgets
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Adobe and PDF management / manipulation
Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and oral
Strong analytical skills
The following skills and experience are desired, but not required :
Experience working for the IRS, state tax agency, judge, or an attorney general’s office
Tax Litigation Experience
Preparation of individual tax returns
QuickBooks experience
