We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting CPC's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Oversee internal audits including, but not limited to: AP and AR accounts, new vendors and customers, vendor terms, bill accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of various financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Manage intercompany allocations and balance intercompany activity.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to implement financial software solutions that enhance reporting capabilities and improve workflow efficiency. Manage current A/R software.
- Conduct technical accounting research to address complex accounting issues as they arise.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in financial report writing with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with various financial software applications relevant to corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Solid understanding of technical accounting concepts and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Demonstrated experience in general ledger reconciliation processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex financial data.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
