CPC Logistics is seeking an experienced individual to help manage our private trucking fleet. The position is based in Hamilton, OH. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing a fleet of 30 or more trucks, familiar with Transportation Management Systems and ELD software, with a track record of providing excellent on time performance, understands DOT regulations for CMV’s.
Excel skills are required. Plus a demonstrated desire for continued education. We are a 24/7 operation exclusively serving one of the most internationally recognized and respected consumer goods producers.
Job Relationships
- Reports to: CPC Director of Fleet Ops or CPC Divisional Manager.
- Direct Reports: Dispatch Supervisors and other assigned Admin.
- Works With: CPC Operations Managers and others as assigned.
Job Description
- Responsible for working with the entire CPC team to build a team approach and positive work environment for direct reports and drivers within the assigned region.
- Responsible for accurate planning and execution of roles and responsibilities to provide on time delivery safely in the geographic area.
- Responsible for contributing to and executing the procedures that are created and helping guide the CPC team members through the day-to-day operations of dispatch.
- Responsible for the continuous flow of information into, though, and out of the dispatch office and up through management and the customer.
- Address and execute on time deficiencies through planning process together with direction from the Director of Fleet Ops.
Daily Operations and Duties
- Contribute to the daily direction/setting meeting with the customer and effectively communicate the plan to the planners and dispatch team.
- Independently address and communicate deviations from the plan.
- Guide the team to address delivery problems as they occur.
- Provide daily/weekly schedule for dispatch coverage.
- Review and submit payroll for Dispatch, planners, and admin.
- Participate in meetings as required by the customer.
- Ensure breakdowns, call offs, and other anomalies are addressed effectively.
- Monitor on time plan (route monitors).
- Weekly review of the team performance with CPC Director of Operations.
- Assist as required in developing new lane strategies and communication of the same to the dispatch group.
- Assist the CPC Director of Operations in determining and anticipating staffing needs both in the teams they lead as well as the driver/equipment needs.
- With the help of CPC Director of Operations, develop, evaluate, and recognize individuals on the team towards maximum team performance.
Job Evaluation
- Successfully building a positive work environment for all team members within the region including direct reports, CPC Operations Managers and the CPC drivers. The measurement will include a review of turnover in the region.
- Successful execution is based on the ability to manage the processes, personnel that report into them, and customer KPI’s including the ongoing flow of information through the tools used in the department.
- Fleet Managers are evaluated based on their ability to ensure that metrics are met in terms of team member productivity and ability to assist as a point of elevation for all direct reports.
