We have an opening for a full-time Quality Inspector at our shop located in Tonawanda, NY. In this role you will be responsible for performing checks, tests, and inspections of welds as well as various pieces of equipment against the standards set by various certifying
This position is a full-time, hourly role with a normal schedule of Monday through Friday 6:30am-3:00pm.
What you’ll do:
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Endorses finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Utilizes gages, templates and other manufacturing aids to ensure that all product meets the established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
What you’re required to have:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in quality control
- Must be able to pass a Visual Testing Level 2 (VT2) within a month of hire (training provided)
Nice to have, but not required:
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) license
- Awareness of manufacturing methods and procedures
