CPH is seeking a skilled Construction Rep II/Inspector to join our dynamic team supporting constructability and survey reviews. This is a great position utilizing a strong background in construction inspection, with work hours that will vary. The ideal candidate will be flexible with availability to align with the ideal schedule, meeting the project schedule. This individual can be based in our office in Sanford or Orlando, FL.
The Construction Rep II is responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed according to the project’s plans, specifications, and relevant codes and regulations. This role focuses on conducting inspections of work performed on site relating to water/wastewater facilities and pump stations, pipeline projects, identifying and documenting any discrepancies, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards, and complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Duties Include:
- Conduct regular on-site inspections of construction to ensure compliance with building codes, project specifications, and safety regulations.
- Ensure the construction aligns with approved utility plans, drawings, and project requirements.
- Ensure all construction material and construction work meet quality standards, project specifications, and AIS/BABA requirements as applicable.
- Davis Bacon Wage Rate review and interviews
- Prepare inspection reports with details of the observation, and if any corrective action is needed.
- Maintain records of inspections, tests, and correspondence related to the project.
- Document and report any incident, accident, or safety violations.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors follow safety protocols and standards, and notify the contractor and client if discrepancies are found.
- Monitor projects for safety compliance and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Construction field, Construction Inspector, or Field Engineer.
- An associate's Degree or similar related education is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in construction inspection related to water/wastewater facilities, pipelines, and pumping.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficiency using inspection tools and equipment.
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, and ability to maintain schedules and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Familiar with the architecture and engineering industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Assist with administrative duties as needed.
