What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at CPI Aerostructures?
Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist Performs internal audits in accordance with AS9101 to AS9100, NADCAP and Customer requirements; assists in regulatory and statutory audits (AS9100 & NADCAP) as an advocate for CPI Aero defending the documented Quality Management System. The Quality Assurance Specialist owns the customer complaint process, reviews document data packages for compliance to statutory, regulatory and customer requirements as required.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the Quality Assurance Supervisor in all areas including:
- Coordinating, scheduling, leading and supporting all internal, external and third party audits including overseeing effective closure of audits, etc.
- Developing internal audit plans and lead audits including overseeing effective closure of audits, etc.
- Creating and providing QMS and internal auditor training for Quality personnel and others as required.
- Reviewing Processes, Work Instructions and Forms for conformance to AS9100D standard and updating and/or working with others to update as required.
- Staying current with industry quality management systems, standards, revisions and trends and proactively suggest updates/changes to the QMS as appropriate.
- Suggesting and implementing enhancements/updates to all elements of the QMS and providing guidance and support to everyone in the organization as required.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and activities and supporting organizational initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control.
- Reviewing Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Management reviews and corrective and preventative action reviews. Support Management Reviews as required.
- Communicating well both orally and in writing to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Supporting other Quality Control and Assurance activities as required.
Education/Experience:
- Prior aerospace experience with knowledge of Military and Commercial specifications desired
- 10 years in Quality Assurance with internal/external auditing experience and experience composing corrective action responses in the aerospace industry using and various analysis tools.
The salary range for this position is : $27.24-$40.61. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and other factors allowed by law. Individuals are not typically hired at or near the top of the salary range.
