Job Description
The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of our Quality Management System (QMS). This includes performing internal audits in accordance with AS9101 to AS9100, NADCAP, and customer requirements. The specialist serves as an advocate for CPI Aero, defending our documented QMS during regulatory and statutory audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Assurance Supervisor in all areas, including coordinating, scheduling, leading, and supporting internal, external, and third-party audits.
- Develop internal audit plans and lead audits, ensuring effective closure.
- Create and provide QMS and internal auditor training for Quality personnel and others as required.
- Review processes, work instructions, and forms for conformance to AS9100D standard and update or collaborate with others to make necessary changes.
- Stay current with industry quality management systems, standards, revisions, and trends, suggesting updates or changes to the QMS as appropriate.
- Implement enhancements or updates to all elements of the QMS and provide guidance and support to the organization as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and activities, supporting organizational efforts such as Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control.
- Review Quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Management reviews and corrective and preventative action reviews, supporting these processes as required.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Support other Quality Control and Assurance activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Prior aerospace experience with knowledge of Military and Commercial specifications is desired.
- 10 years of Quality Assurance experience with internal/external auditing experience and composing corrective action responses in the aerospace industry using various analysis tools.
