Machine Operator - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift Openings

Overview

We are looking for Machine Operators to help in our manufacturing facility. We are a light manufacturing company that produces contactless payment cards for customers. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. 

1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am; 10% shift differential

3rd Shift: Friday-Sunday 4:00am-4:30pm; 15% shift differential

Pay rate: $20.75 per hour (plus shift differential if applicable)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets the shop floor router and workmanship manual as well as applicable specifications
• Loads sheets properly machine and removing nonconforming material for rework or destruction.
• Cleans equipment as necessary to avoid contamination or as a routine maintenance procedure.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

• Previous machine operating experience; one year plus
• High school diploma or equivalent 
• The candidate must have basic skills required to operate technical machinery. They must be able to use a caliper and other hand tools. 
• Basic computer skills. The candidate must be able to interface with a PC by inputting and out putting data and loading and unloading programs. Keyboard input skills are necessary. 
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions (written and verbal). Ability to write simple report. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.” 
• Keen attention to detail including distinguishing color
• Elementary English proficiency communication skills necessary
• Ability to add, subtract multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is conducted in a standing position and requires walking, bending, stooping, twisting and lifting of materials up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
• Environment is noisy and may require ear protection
• Work involves good eyesight, hand/eye coordination and normal color vision to be able to ensure quality product and maintain safety
• Work involves full use of hands/fingers in order to use precision or semi-precision equipment, tools or instruments requiring deft hand movements
• Work involves dealing with fine detail, which can be tiring both mentally and physically
• Works with rapidly moving machinery that may require quick adjustments to minimize waste and time
• Work is conducted in shifts and may require overtime on other shifts to meet deadlines
