We have an immediate need for a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist for a growing surgery center in Columbus, IN.

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will perform technical skills with the use of the C-arm to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes, while demonstrating diagnostic quality control. Along with providing surgical and technical assistance to physicians, anesthesia personnel, registered nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.

Responsibilities

Radiologic Technologist:

  • Position patient on examining table; set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
  • Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
  • Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Participates and maintains safety and dignity of patient at all times.
  • Actively participates in timeouts by confirming patient identification, correct procedure, side/site, etc.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate radiation training and competencies.
  • Assists in monitoring radiation methods that expose all staff to the least amount of exposure.
  • Assists in maintaining radiological equipment and proper badge usage and storage.
  • Troubleshoots problems with the C-arm.
  • Maintains proper use of x-ray equipment including lead aprons.
  • Documents fluoroscopy usage and correct storage and printing of images as determined by site.
  • Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties.
  • Effectively communicates with all providers and staff members.
  • In addition, have demonstrated competency in and routinely perform duties in at least one of the following:
  • a. Procedures: Applies and monitors principles of aseptic technique throughout intra-operative period.
  • Assists provider by having all necessary equipment available and ready. Efficiently “turns over” rooms between patients following proper cleaning technique. Communicates all breaches of aseptic technique immediately to the provider and circulating nurse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Surgical Tech:

  • Provide surgical and technical assistance to physicians, surgical nurses, and anesthesia providers.
  • Applies and monitors principles of aseptic technique throughout intra-operative period.
  • Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents, lubricants, examination for function, identification, and assembly according to OneSource and preparation for sterilization; retrieves malfunctioning instruments and ensures repairs are completed.
  • Correctly uses peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness, and cleanliness.
  • Clean, set up, sterilize, and distribute instruments as scheduled on each shift.
  • Maintains flexibility to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed.
  • Function as a team member within our facilities to complete necessary duties in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • BLS certification or obtain certification within three months of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Rad Tech.
  • Experience using a C-Arm is required.
  • Knowledge of surgical techniques or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in Interventional Pain Management preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational, judgment, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask.
  • Cooperative, positive, and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management, and visitors.
  • Ability to exhibit core values (Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Professionalism, Confidentiality, Quality of Care) and regularly encourage others to do the same.

Dress Code: Scrubs

Pay rate: $29/hour to $31/ hour (depending on experience)

Part-time schedule: Part time; 2 to 3 days weekly; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm based on the procedure schedule
