PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Signalman/Assistant Signalman manages the maintenance and construction of wayside signals and crossing signals.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Installing, maintaining and dismantling signal structures and components such as foundations, equipment housing, cable and switches; digs, fills and tamps holes and trenches; climbs poles and ladders
• Operates non-power hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, files, wrenches, pliers, shovels, picks, axes, cutters and sledgehammers.
  
  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience and ability to work outdoors related construction
• Some experience with operates heavy equipment to handle unreels and installs wires and cables overhead and underground.
• Electrical experience preferred
• Up to 50% travel may be required
• Must possess a valid drivers' license and/or CDL license or ability to acquire
• Candidates are required to have a High School diploma or equivalent experience, be at least 18 years old.
• Candidates must have he ability to read and understand basic information and data provided in our rule books, timetables, special instructions, and circuit plans.

Medical Requirements:
