PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for shop/service track operations, heavy repairs, and responding to main line outages. The ideal candidate would have a strong mechanical and electrical repair background on locomotives
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Plan daily work schedules and manage employees performing locomotive maintenance
- Set expectations and accountability to employees while in shop or on service island
- Instruct mechanics in all phases of locomotive repairs, and inspect quality of work performed by all crafts
- Provide safety briefings and support to mechanics on safety guidelines
- Supervise and lead work force groups along with multiple projects simultaneously
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required
- Must be familiar with FRA Rules and Regulations and be able to prepare and accurately fill out all forms required for the operation of Diesel Locomotives
- Strong leadership and communication skills is an asset
- Strong understanding of LMS, MCS, ISM, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office programs

Medical Requirements:
