SPATIAL DATA TECHINICIAN
Utilizing strong technical skills, this role leads reality capture efforts for diverse projects ranging across CPL’s practice areas.
As a member of the Geospatial Strategies Team, the Reality Capture Technician captures and documents inspection data for a wide array of infrastructure assets. Working under close supervision, the Reality Capture Technician reports to a Project Manager performing 3D spatial scanning and analyses; overseeing geoprocessing; manipulating vector and raster data; and maintaining our internal project databases. You subsequently interpret acquired information to identify spatial relationships and patterns, establish facts and provide actionable insight in support of our project teams. Highly motivated and intellectually curious, you’re known for your attention to detail, delivery-focused mindset and thrive when given the opportunity to truly “own” a task.

- You work well both independently and as part of a team
- You can effectively troubleshoot field equipment issues
- You have experience with reality capture using LiDAR and photogrammetry technologies
- You’re proficient with Windows, iOS and Android, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
- You have a deep appreciation for drones / aviation
- You earned an AS in a related field from an accredited institution or have at least two (2) years of field data capture experience

The rate for this position generally ranges between $45,000.00- 67,000.00 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
