BUILDING SYSTEMS ENGINEER I - PLUMBING

As a Building Systems Engineer I with our team, you’ll have the chance to shape innovative, sustainable building systems for exciting projects across diverse fields. What You Bring To The Table

• BS in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience
• Professional Licensure
• Ability to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines
• Domestic hot and cold-water systems, including backflow prevention experience
• Natural gas distribution
• Building sanitary and storm water systems
• Fire protection design and working knowledge of NFPA standards
• Healthcare medical gas system/distribution design
• Compressed air systems (general and industrial)
• Good leadership, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Engineering, analytical and technical writing skills with attention to detail
• Skillful with computer software including word processing and spreadsheet analyses
• AutoCAD/BIM experience required
  
  

CORE DUTIES

• Work with senior team members from project conception through construction completion
• Perform calculations and participate in conceptual design planning, equipment selection, and the preparation of drawings and specifications
• Make site visits to document existing systems and gather owner documentation
• Conduct frequent codes and standards research to ensure that all methodologies are current and appropriate
• Assist with submittal reviews during the project construction phase
• Work with the design team to create design sketches, layouts and plans
• Use computer-assisted design software to create preliminary drawings
• Support for preparation of load calculations and modeling and coordination with others

The rate for this position generally ranges between 80-120K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
