What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at CPM?
This position will work with a team of operations management and shop floor manufacturing personnel to help resolve operations inefficiencies, and tactical quality issues with internal and external suppliers. This role will work to help develop processes and quality control plans for production departments. The successful candidate will drive a zero-defect quality system through quality documentation, process improvements and in-process inspections.

- Work with assembly to review issues as they arise and help determine root cause
- Support Fabrication (Form, Weld and Machine) on issues as they arise
- Work with Engineering to review assembly and fabrication issues for potential design changes
- Product Validation through In-Process checks and Incoming Inspections
- Review BOMS for accuracy
- Review drawings for accuracy prior to sourcing and support supplier questions
- Communicate any defects to vendors as they arise and help purchasing coordinate rework as needed
- Establish and maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement
- Support Sales and Aftermarket in the investigation of customer complaints
- Supports RMA Process and ability to make decisions on proper disposition
- Help ensure production departments are completing orders on time
- Develops and improves manufacturing processes by developing and implementing SOP’s Run small to medium sized capital projects
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strives to continuously learn and improve oneself and the people around them as demonstrated through job history, education, or life experience
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or other applicable fields preferred
- Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement tools
- Experience with Quality measurement systems
- Knowledge of GD&T Principles
- Experience using engineering modeling software
- Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action.
- Experience working with external suppliers
