JOB SUMMARY :
Collaborate in a team environment to develop and enhance robust manufacturing processes and tooling for aerospace and industrial investment casting markets.Establish, maintain, and instruct best practices for investment casting to meet CPP's business objectives.Identify issues, explore alternatives, and implement solutions to enhance yield, rework, and overall product quality.Occasionally take a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems within teams.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in constructing dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling necessary for producing and inspecting ceramic cores, wax patterns, and castings.Improve process yields utilizing various data analysis methods (statistical, mathematical, DOE, Six Sigma, etc.).Work with tooling vendors and CPP Purchasing to create quality tools and dies at competitive prices.Ensure the dimensional quality of castings meets or exceeds customer expectations.Develop internal job instructions and document work procedures.Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies to enhance product capabilities.Audit production lots for adherence to established techniques ensuring repeatability.Foster a positive work atmosphere through professional communication and behavior.Identify cost reduction opportunities while improving labor utilization.Communicate with tooling suppliers and customers to fulfill product requirements.QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : BS in Engineering or a related technical field.Experience : 3-5 years in mechanical or product engineering, specifically within the investment casting industry, demonstrating increasing responsibility.Certifications : None required.Other Requirements : Knowledge of DS / SX (Directionally Solidified / Single Crystal) & Equiaxed casting processes, shell parameters, statistics, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing principles, GD&T, and excellent analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in NX / UG, Solidworks, GOM, Minitab, and Microsoft Suite is essential. Ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings is necessary, along with professionalism, innovative thinking, teamwork, assertiveness, and a sense of urgency.WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
Office environment / manufacturing facility.Physical Demands : Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and use a computer for prolonged periods.Travel Requirements : Up to 10%.Required PPE : Compliance with required PPE policies in various work areas.Safety Gear : Safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are mandatory in all plant areas.This is a full-time position.
