CPP Syracuse seeks a full-time TIG Welder for our 1st shift facility.Primary Purpose
Perform GTAW welding of investment castings, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and internal procedures. You will progress towards welding certification for various alloys.

CPP Syracuse seeks a full-time TIG Welder for our 1st shift facility.Primary Purpose
Perform GTAW welding of investment castings, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and internal procedures. You will progress towards welding certification for various alloys.
Major Responsibilities
- Weld using GTAW for rework, repair, and cosmetic upgrades in accordance with customer requirements and internal guidelines.
- Evaluate castings to ensure prior operation preparation is adequate.
- Assess casting conditions to determine weld technique.
- Perform additional weld preparation using die and belt grinders.
- Operate and maintain welding machines and equipment.
- Document weld locations and dimensions.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities through lean tools like Systematic Problem Solving, Process Management, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Maintain adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Attend work regularly and be reliable.
- Work at the Chittenango facility.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Experience: Formal training or classes are beneficial.
- Certifications/Licenses: Maintain GTAW welding certification.
- Language Skills: Read, understand, and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, simple drawings, procedure manuals, and Internal Method Sheets (IMS). Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and leadership.
- Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in non-standardized situations.
- Lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
- Vision screening may be required with or without corrective lenses.
- The job involves lifting, pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, or shoveling.
- Welding requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
