This role will be responsible for assisting the physician with patient care including taking vital signs, obtaining history and chief complaint, assisting with biopsies and select surgery procedures. Other responsibilities include patient education on treatment plans and medication, nursing procedures, such as suture removal, dressing changes, assist with labs required for procedures, and completion of pathology and lab requisition documents.
Work Schedule :
This is a part-time position requiring up to 29 hours per week with standard working hours Tuesday through Thursday. We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring business needs are met.
Responsibilities :
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations.
- Preps charts the day before to ensure ease of daily flow.
- Escort patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times
- Obtain short history and vital signs as required by patient's chief complaint.
- Obtain or updates medication list as necessary.
- Anticipate physician needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely.
- Perform necessary photo taking in conjunction with clinical team.
- Completely and correctly fill out all required pathology, laboratory, return to work and any other necessary requisition documents for patients as required by physician.
- Provides clinical staff with all completed documents for data entry into the biopsy book.
- Maintain clean work environment.
- Manage multiple provider schedules without service interruption.

- Prep OR and patient beds pre surgery
- Stock necessary supplies / equipment for surgery
- Unbox and stock supplies in correct storage areas as they come in
- Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments.
- Properly disposes of contaminated supplies.
- Answering / returning patient and pharmacy calls
- Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory for medical supplies in the back office including implants and garments for the out-patient facility.
- Assists physician with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, scar revisions, earlobe repairs, etc.
- Perform basic Front Office duties (Scheduling, Checkout, etc) as necessary.
- Promote products and educate patients about services offered at our practice
- Counsel patients in conjunction with providers on post procedure care, including patient education on treatment plans
- Ensures patient understands the treatment plan, proper use of medications, and understands responsibility of compliance with the treatment plan prior to leaving the office.
- Stock all exam rooms
- Notify clinical staff for supply requests when an order is to be filled to avoid shortages.
- Maintain all OSHA standards.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- HIPAA and PHI-Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA Compliance Plan set forth by McCormack Plastic Surgery and all PHI policies. Qualifications :
- Education :
High School diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CPR and first aid certification required
