Position Overview :
We are seeking a Civil / Structural Field Engineer to support a high-profile government construction project located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of extension. The role includes a competitive per diem, mobilization support, and paid trips home every 28 days.
This project is a significant initiative for modernizing enriched uranium operations, aiming to replace aging infrastructure with state-of-the-art facilities. The position requires flexibility, as work schedules may change and overtime may be needed to meet project demands.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide field engineering support for ongoing construction activities.
- Assist in resolving construction issues through meetings, correspondence, and documentation such as Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Construction Deficiency Reports (CDRs).
- Review and provide engineering dispositions based on deliverables like steel and concrete calculations, finite element analysis of structures, and specifications.
- Coordinate and review technical documents across various engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction teams.
- Monitor work schedules and manage assigned project activities.
- Participate in constructability reviews to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
