Position Summary
The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry's rapidly changing workforce needs by providing local San Antonio college students with public utility career experience. Through the internship program students are paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experience that expands their understanding of how the industry works and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to be successful. The Gas Operations intern will support to Gas Engineering & Planning department by supporting the Gas Operations team in ongoing operational issues with their engineering related issues. Gain an understanding of day-to-day operations within the gas system. Ride along daily with Gas Operations and get familiar with the system, maintenance operations, projects, monitoring and changes to pressure, and the general design of the system.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct ride-alongs with Gas Solutions operational areas (i.e. - Pressure Control, Corrosion Control, Construction Inspections, Utility Locating, etc.)
- Primary project will be focused on gas operations and system design. This role will gain an understanding of day to day field operations and equipment and will serve to evaluate equipment in service and resolve design and operational issues.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
A minimum GPA of 2.5.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
