Water Treatment Plant Operator
The Castle Pines Metropolitan District is seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Plant Operator D-A to join our team. In this role, you will be a part of the team overseeing the daily operations of our state-of-the-art 7 MGD water treatment plant. Responsibilities include monitoring plant performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the sustainable management of water resources in our community.
We are looking for a motivated individual with a solid background in water treatment operations. The ideal candidate should possess:
- knowledge of federal and state drinking water regulations.
- the ability to work independently with broad direction and limited supervision.
- the ability to identify safety hazards in the workplace and successfully mitigate them.
- strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify abnormalities or maintenance needs.
- proficiency in handling chemicals safely and operating heavy equipment such as backhoe, loader, and skid steer.
- excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing in order to collaborate with other departments and agencies.
- flexibility to participate in rotational on-call schedules for emergency response and mandatory overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado Class “B” Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) in good standing is required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Certificate for the appropriate level (see job description).
The salary range for this role is $54,000 to $76,800 annually, with eligibility for a year-end performance-based bonus. Castle Pines Metropolitan District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% premium coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees, as well as various other insurance options. We participate in PERA, offering both Defined Benefit (pension) and Defined Contribution retirement plan options. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays and PTO accrual beginning at 160 hours per year.

CPMD is a quasi-governmental agency located near Castle Rock, Colorado. We provide water, wastewater, and stormwater services to approximately 5,000 residents. Despite our size, we pride ourselves in providing a top-tier water treatment and distribution system for the benefit of our residents. Our office is located within Castle Pines Village, where we frequently see elk, wild turkey, and other wildlife from our office.
