Global Procurement Director – Chemical Manufacturing

Location: Richmond, VA | Full-Time | On-Site (5 days per week, with flexibility as needed)

Position Overview:

My client is seeking a highly strategic Global Procurement Director to oversee the procurement function for raw materials and chemicals. This high-level role will report directly to the VP of Supply Chain and collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Directors, R&D, and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will lead contract negotiations, develop global sourcing strategies, and drive supplier relationships to optimize costs and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supply reliability.
• Oversee global supplier relationships and conduct vendor meetings in collaboration with the Category Managers.
• Negotiate complex contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Directors, R&D, and other departments to align procurement strategies with business goals.
• Provide insights and recommendations to the VP of Supply Chain on procurement trends, risks, and opportunities.
  
  

Key Qualifications:

• 10 years of procurement experience, highly prefer the chemical industry.
• Strong strategic mindset with a proven ability to drive procurement excellence at a global scale.
• Expertise in contract negotiations, supplier management, and cost optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree required
