Manages the corporate food safety and quality culture to ensure that all company products and production sites produce consistent, high-quality product that meets all applicable regulations. This role will work closely with plant management and quality. They will audit and approve vendors, manage consumer affairs, work with co-manufacturers, and facilitate the New Product Development processes. In addition to the quality role, they will manage the regulatory function and ensures compliance with all relevant government regulations. The position also focuses on product safety and quality improvements and reduces the business risk associated with food safety and product quality issues.

- Responsible for the corporate food safety and quality systems. Examples, but not limited to FSMA, HARPC, Weight Control, Food Safety, Product Security, GMP and Quality compliance.
- Audits and enhances production facility programs and distribution centers for safety, quality, and compliance.
- Audits and approves contract manufacturers, distribution centers, ingredients, packaging suppliers and partners with supply chain and vendor teams for approvals.
- Experience in recall/traceability, environmental testing, allergen control pest control, sanitation, foreign material control, preventive maintenance, and CAPA.
- Manages specification system, Smart Food Safe (SFS), documentation management, CAPA and auditing modules, Trace Gains, and ensures accuracy of all information.
- Provides SQF support as necessary to the company manufacturing locations, GFSI scheme support to contract manufacturers and distribution centers.
- Monitors consumer and customer complaints to identify trends and key drivers. Conducts investigation, response, and reports. Works with appropriate groups to ensure corrective actions are in place to address the identified issues and track progress.
- Maintains SAP/INFO-QM for all products and businesses.
- Interacts with external quality auditors, Labs, COA, Regulatory Agencies, Kosher councils, Certifying bodies, customer and consumers.
- Participates in NPD project teams where new products, processes and contract manufacturers will be required.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the food safety and quality culture, including KPI’s and a food safety and quality roadmap.
- Responsible for compliance with all US and International Regulations including FDA, USDA, FSIS and CFIA.

What You’ll Need:
- BS and/or MS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the food industry with food safety and quality systems including 2 years’ auditing experience (internal or external). Knowledgeable of US and International Regulations including FDA, USDA, and CFIA
- Working knowledge Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Working knowledge of SAP or INFOR is beneficia
