CMM Programmer – Afternoon Shift (12 pm – 8:30 pm)
$24-35/hr DOE
Are you an experienced CMM Programmer with a knack for precision? Our company is in search of a talented Quality Inspector / CMM Operator to join a well-respected manufacturer in the Syracuse, NY area. They pride themselves on maintaining a high standard of quality, and your role will be crucial in upholding these standards.
Key Information:
This position requires CMM programming expertise using Zeiss CMM’s with Calypso Programming, proficiency in this is essential!
As a Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining coordinate measuring machine programs, ensuring the accurate inspection of components in accordance with company drawings and specifications.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Utilize BIPROS (Lean) continuous improvement practices in inspection areas for enhanced efficiency.
- Develop and maintain CMM / FaroArm inspection programs for purchased parts based on company drawings and requests.
- Inspect production, non-production, and sample components using coordinate measuring machines and conventional inspection methods.
- Handle sort, rework, and quarantine of non-conforming material.
- Complete inspection documentation and reporting.
- Approve/reject material using SAP transactions.
- Flexibility to work required shifts, overtime, and support periods of employee vacations or equipment breakdowns.
Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in reading blueprints.
- CMM programming experience is mandatory.
- Familiarity with hand gaging equipment.
- SAP experience is preferred
- Audit and SPC (statistical process control) experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel; ACCESS experience is a plus.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, the public, and vendors.
- Good written communication and organizational skills.
