Payroll and HR Administrator
Location: East Syracuse, NY
Salary: $60,000 – $65,000
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Join a dynamic team as a Payroll and HR Administrator where you’ll be responsible for full-cycle payroll, benefits administration, and support of various HR functions. This role ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws and internal policies, while also contributing to employee programs and operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll through UKG, including timecard adjustments, garnishments, and retroactive pay.
- Ensure timely and accurate pay, and reconcile payroll data to support accounting accuracy.
- Administer benefit programs including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), FSA, and HSA.
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, STD, LTD, PFL) and workers’ compensation.
- Maintain compliance with ACA, COBRA, and support benefit audits.
- Coordinate enrollments and benefit communications with third-party providers.
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and support training, safety, and recognition programs.
- Track HR metrics and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and employment law compliance.
- Experience with HRIS systems (UKG preferred).
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
