As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Network Cabling Technician to join our team and play a crucial role in deploying and maintaining structured network infrastructure for our clients.


Job Summary:

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented technician to support on-site project work in our Structured Services Department. This role primarily involves low-voltage cabling, network installations, and physical hardware deployments. An ideal candidate should have experience in cable installation, network equipment setup, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. The ability to follow structured work plans and collaborate with our Project Manager is highly preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Cabling & Network Installation: Pull, terminate, label, and test Ethernet (CAT5e, CAT6, Fiber, etc.) and other low-voltage cables.
  • Hardware Deployment: Install and mount network racks, patch panels, access points, televisions, and other IT infrastructure.
  • Blueprint & Scope Interpretation: Read and follow project blueprints or technical drawings provided by our Project Manager.
  • Troubleshooting & Testing: Ensure proper network functionality through punch-downs, continuity testing, and equipment diagnostics.
  • Site Coordination & Documentation: Label and document cable runs, maintain accurate site records, and ensure professional-grade workmanship.
  • Additional IT Support (Preferred): Assist with basic IT troubleshooting (workstations, network repairs, server maintenance, etc.).


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License (required for on-site work).
  • Experience in structured cabling, low-voltage wiring, or network installation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while maintaining a professional and reliable demeanor.
  • Attention to detail with cable management and organization.
  • Familiarity with network hardware (switches, routers, access points) and related tools (punch-down tools, tone generators, etc.).
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and complete labor-intensive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of reading blueprints, construction drawings, or technical schematics is a plus.
  • IT knowledge (computer repairs, network troubleshooting, Windows/Mac environments) is a plus but not required.


Preferred Experience & Certifications:

  • BICSI Installer Certification (or similar) is a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network  or Cabling Infrastructure certifications are beneficial.
  • Experience with business IT support, network troubleshooting, or managed services is a plus.
