Position Overview: MECO Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team at one of our office locations in Hannibal, MO, Jefferson City, MO, or Pittsfield, IL. The Electrical Designer will play a key role in supporting our engineering team by designing electrical systems for a variety of projects, including building and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans, for building and commercial industrial applications.
- Design and specify electrical systems, including low to medium voltage and controls, particularly for water and wastewater facilities.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and other designers to produce innovative solutions that meet project specifications and client needs.
- Prepare technical documents, specifications, and reports to support project planning and implementation.
- Review and verify designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive project solutions from concept through completion.
- Provide technical support and input during client meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer, with a strong background in building and commercial industrial environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) for creating electrical designs and layouts.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, including low to medium voltage, and controls engineering.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to develop accurate and precise designs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to clients and team members.
- A team-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality project outcomes.
