Overview: As the Survey Division Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all surveying activities within our organization. You will lead a team of surveyors, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of surveys for various projects. Your role will involve corporate coordination, team management, client development, client satisfaction, and ensuring that surveying operations adhere to industry standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the surveying team.
- Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and expertise.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the surveying division
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning and execution of surveying projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand surveying requirements for each project.
- Oversee Development project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure that surveys are completed on schedule and within budget.
Survey Operations:
- Direct field survey activities, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
- Responsible for employees review survey data and ensure accuracy and quality control.
- Lead the Utilization of advanced surveying equipment and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to surveying techniques and equipment.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding surveying projects.
- Communicate project requirements, timelines, and deliverables to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Address client concerns or issues related to surveying operations promptly and effectively.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
- Review surveying methodologies and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and enforce quality control standards to maintain high-quality surveying services.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing surveying operations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the surveying team and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety training and inspections to minimize risks associated with surveying activities.
Business Development:
- Develop and lead BD activities for the division
- Spend 50% of time meeting clients and potential clients
- Dive the Doer/Seller model with subordinates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Surveyor license (PLS) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 10 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Understanding of surveying software and equipment, such as AutoCAD, GIS, GPS, and total stations.
- Aggressively pursue the development and use AI and machine learning tools
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including decision-making, delegation, and conflict resolution skills.
Pay Range is 90,000-130,000 commensurate with experience
