CFTL recently became part of the Madrid Amalgamated Group (MAG), an esteemed portfolio of engineering and professional services firms. This strategic acquisition strengthens our capabilities, expands our resources, and enhances our reach within the industry, positioning us to achieve unprecedented growth. As part of MAG, CFTL will share resources with Madrid Engineering Group, creating synergies that enhance efficiency and innovation. In this role, you will provide business development leadership not only for Madrid/CFTL but also for our sister firms, driving collaboration and growth across the portfolio.

Position Overview:
The Vice President of Business Development is a senior leadership role that combines strategic vision, industry expertise, and exceptional relationship-building skills. You will be at the forefront of driving our growth and market expansion, creating and seizing opportunities to further our impact and reputation. This is your chance to lead transformative initiatives in a company where innovation and leadership converge. This person will be in charge of driving business opportunities for both Madrid/CFTL.

This role can be performed remotely within Florida with travel to networking events & client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with our long-term vision and goals.
  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities for growth, and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape.
  • Set measurable goals and benchmarks to evaluate and refine business development efforts.

Client and Partnership Development:

  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including design firms, contractors, developers, government agencies, and owners.
  • Act as a trusted partner and advisor, delivering solutions that anticipate client needs and foster long-term loyalty.
  • Represent our company as a thought leader at high-profile industry events, enhancing brand visibility and credibility.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to ensure seamless transitions from contract to execution.
  • Work with executive leadership to ensure alignment of business development efforts with broader company objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-company collaboration, driving business development synergies between Madrid/CFTL and its sister firms within MAG.

Sales and Negotiation:

  • Spearhead efforts to secure new business through RFPs, RFQs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop tailored proposals and presentations that highlight our unique value including developing the estimated project fee.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring profitable outcomes and alignment with company capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related experience (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business development or executive sales leadership. A proven track record of success is essential. Experience in Geotechnical engineering and materials testing preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills. Proficiency in CRM tools and proposal platforms.
  • Leadership Attributes: Visionary leadership with a focus on fostering innovation and driving results.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of annual revenue growth targets.
  • Retention of high-value clients and satisfaction scores.
  • Volume and value of contracts secured, increased backlog.
  • Timeliness and success rate of proposal submissions.
