Summary
We are seeking a tax / accounting professional to join our Roanoke, TX office as part of our expanding tax team. The ideal candidate for this position is a process improvement minded individual who is able to independently manage their time and assignments in support of the teams ability to process monthly tax reports and associated tasks accurately and in compliance with state imposed due dates.
Responsibilities
- Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary Tax and Advisory team to complete monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual state sales, excise, direct shipment, and wholesale tax reports in accordance with state filing deadlines
- Perform administrative functions related to tax reports and label registrations processed (alphabetizing, sorting, scanning, filing, and uploading client files to Google Drive)
- Collaborate with Licensing and Label Registration lines of business to assist with special projects and/or assignments in times of need contingent on bandwidth
- Collaborate with leadership and clients to identify and resolve potential compliance related issues resulting from processing tax reports
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation affecting the alcoholic beverage industry by reading industry blogs and attending periodic webinars and conferences
- Assist with management of company social media presence including management of company website and LinkedIn
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Two years of relevant professional experience in tax, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping with experience processing a large volume of transactions
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to complete a high volume of firm deadline-based tasks with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding organizational skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with similar due dates
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus but not required
