Job Summary
The Oil Spreader Truck Driver will be responsible for operating a specialized Bear Cat truck to spread oil or other materials on roads, parking lots and job sites. This role requires precise handling of equipment to ensure even distribution of material from the truck including oil and other materials.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES [TRAVEL, SUPERVISORY EXPECTATION, ETC.]
- Truck operations; driving safely and operating oil spreader truck while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Manage the controls to distribute oil and other materials evenly over designated areas adjusting settings as needed based on job specifications or different surface conditions
- Prep and load oil or other materials into the spreader truck, ensuring proper handling and safety measures are accounted for
- Conducting pre-operational inspections to ensure no maintenance attention required and that all equipment is in good working condition
- On-site execution: apply oil to roads, airports, parking lots or other jobs as per the project specifications and monitor thespread truck performance during operation to ensure uniform application
- Maintain accurate records of material use, application rates and job site locations
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety incidents or discrepancies to your manager and operations coordinator promptly
- Follow all safety guidelines set forth by the company when handling and applying oil or other materials
- Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations regarding the transportation and application of hazardous materials
- Proven knowledge and understanding of operating and managing an oil spreader truck or Bear Cat
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow and implement safety policies and regulations
- Ability to work with physical demands of the role including loading truck, operating the truck and maintaining the truck
- Valid CDL with relevant endorsements
- Extensive experience [4-6 years] driving a bear cat or spreader truck
- Travel required 100% of the time to WA, CA, OR, ID, MT, NV, UT, WY and other states
- Seasonal hourly work that is typically March-November but can vary depending on weather
