Position Overview
As a Community Regional Crisis Response Counselor, you will deliver immediate, community-based crisis intervention and stabilization services to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing severe mental health crises. In this mobile role, you will respond to clients in need within the community, offering assessment, counseling, and case management to help stabilize mental health symptoms and prevent hospitalization.
This is a field-based position with travel required across Northern Virginia, and includes flexible scheduling and a weekly on-call rotation to provide 24/7 crisis response coverage.
Salary:
- QMHP: Starting at $73,500
- Licensed Eligible: Starting at $77,500
- Fully Licensed: Starting at $81,000
- Additional stipend available for Spanish-speaking professionals
Sign-On Bonus: $1,500
Key Responsibilities

Crisis Intervention:
- Provide mobile crisis intervention and case management services to individuals and families experiencing psychiatric crises, with a focus on stabilization and avoiding hospitalization.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of mental health, co-occurring substance use, and related risks.
- Offer intensive, short-term counseling, treatment planning, and follow-up support for clients and families.

Service Coordination:
- Facilitate wraparound team meetings to gather input from clients, family members, and other support networks, and ensure a collaborative approach to stabilization.
- Develop a service plan that includes identified problem areas, needs, strategies, and service objectives, with input from the client and support team.
- Engage with external community resources to ensure the client’s support network is comprehensive and effective.

Documentation & Communication:
- Maintain clear, detailed documentation of all interactions, assessments, and service plans.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and support networks, providing written and verbal updates as required.

Teamwork & Flexibility:
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, participating in a weekly on-call rotation to ensure 24-hour community coverage.
- Travel across various Northern Virginia locations to respond to client needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in a human services field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: At least one year of clinical experience with children, adolescents, or adults experiencing mental health crises.
- Licensure: Registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions as both a QMHP-C and QMHP-A, or licensed/licensed-eligible.
- Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and a good driving record due to the travel requirements of this position.
