Primary Responsibilities :
The Landscape Superintendent will oversee day-to-day operations on site at Ponce City Market. They will be tasked with daily maintenance of planted material and turf spaces across the property. In addition, removing trash and debris from planted areas of the property. Making certain all plant material is healthy and taking actions to mitigate and treat diseases found in plant material. Regular pruning and deadheading of plant material will be performed at correct times depending on species specific needs. Pruning will be done to designated contract specifications. Implement watering schedule via irrigation controller and hand watering of containers on property. Repair broken and damaged irrigation lines and sprinkler heads to preserve healthy plant material. Apply fertilizer to plant material at designated times throughout the year. The Superintendent will acquire and install shrubs and flowers in the event material must be replaced. Replacements will only be purchased and installed after Jamestown's approval is received from Engineering Management.
- Direct part time helper and allocate tasks for them to complete in a safe and efficient manner. Utilize assistant to help complete larger projects on property. Mentor assistant to further develop their knowledge of horticultural practices and Crabapple core values.
- Prepare biweekly reports of work conducted on site and submit them to Jamestown Engineering Department Manager.
- Direct and schedule tasks for weekly roaming maintenance crew. Communicate with Crabapple Operations Management team what tasks crews will be performing, and equipment needed to effectively complete tasks.
- Communicate with Crabapple Client Relations Manager (CRM) of issues with property and project status both present and future.
- Communicate with Crabapple Enhancements, lawncare and Irrigation departments visiting property and associated management.
- Work with Jamestown Engineering and Crabapple colleagues to coordinate logistics of larger projects happening on site. Ensure that jobs are competed in a professional and safe manner.
- Provide estimates of pricing to Jamestown Management for replacement plant material and small projects.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to provide logistical support and ensure projects will be completed in a safe, professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure that contractual obligations regarding maintenance and services are upheld between Crabapple and Jamestown.
