Job Title: Entry-Level Electrical Craftsperson
Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist skilled craftspersons in performing supportive duties. The selected candidate will work under immediate supervision, learning to interpret drawings, sketches, and software, and assisting with the installation of electrical conduit and control apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with interpreting drawings, sketches, and software to determine best work procedures and tools required
• Assist skilled craftsman in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit; welding supports; installing cable and duct banks; making terminations
• Assist with the installation of control and distribution apparatus and fasten them in place
• Test and start up systems and continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
Requirements:
• Must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools, and layout tools
Working Conditions:
• Constantly move about a construction/industrial site
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required
• Exposure to changing outdoor weather conditions
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet)
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
