What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Technicians position at Craftsmen Contractors, LLC?
Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire Electrical Technicians for the Minden, La. area. Electricians, Apprentices and Helpers are welcome to apply.
This is for a manufacturing facility. These are temp to permanent positions for the right candidates and for those seeking long term work. The work schedule shifts: (6am - 4:30pm, 6:30am - 5pm or 7am - 5:30pm) and also work every other Saturday.
Pay is $16.50 - $31/hr. depending on experience.
No per diem is offered.
You will also need to pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to starting.
Electrician Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Install complex conduit configurations per blueprint specification using appropriate tools.
- Mount electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
- Stock and set up electrical wire carts.
- Pull wire through conduit and makes ground connections.
- Install wire for complex configurations.
- Install and cover receptacles and switches.
- Properly perform wiring insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point terminations checks.
- Perform operational checks.
- Keep inventory of parts in the area.
Electrician Job Requirements:
- Prior electrical experience or relevant coursework is required for those who are willing to pursue a career in the electrical field.
- Demonstrate basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Read blueprints.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrate ability to perform multiple or semi-complex tasks with limited exercise of judgment.
- Trained and proficient in the National Electrical Code.
- Wear personal protective gear, such as protective eyewear and steel-toed boots.
- Required to work for extended periods of time in a standing position while installing equipment.
- Ability to work from a ladder.
- Work in confined spaces while installing equipment.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Possess a high degree of attention to detail.
- Required to work around hazardous conditions sometimes which include extreme noise levels and electrical, automatic, and/or moving equipment.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
- Face to face interview prior to being hired.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Pass a short written electrical test.
