Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Forklift Operators for the New Orleans area to move products and material around facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job will involve working at a warehouse distribution facility. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday working day shifts. These are temp to permanent positions for the right candidates.
Forklift Operators pay rate is $15.00 per hour.
Forklift Operators need to have at least 4 steady years of forklift experience. A forklift certification in the past is a plus.
A current TWIC Card is required for this position.
Will need to pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as Forklift Operator - 4 steady years
- Need to be able to pass a criminal background check
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
- Current TWIC Card is required.
- Excellent physical condition and coordination
- Need to be aware of all surroundings at all times
- Will need to pass a practical forklift operating test prior to being hired. Will have to see how you operate a forklift hands on.
