Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Sheet Metal Technicians for an industrial facility in Minden, La.
Pay is $14 - $20/hr. depending on experience. No per diem is offered.
These are temp to permanent positions for the right candidates. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday and every other Saturday working day shifts. Weekly pay by direct deposit.
Summary
As a Sheet Metal Technician, you will be integral to the fabrication and assembly of metal components, reporting directly to the Production Supervisor. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, along with strong mechanical knowledge and basic math skills. You will utilize press brake machines and apply analysis skills to ensure precision in your work. Your ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications will be essential in producing high-quality products that meet our organization's standards. Job Duties:
- Prepare and cut metal components used to construct buildings.
- Utilize basic math skills for reading blueprints, measuring equipment, mechanical aptitude, and high problem-solving ability.
- Perform multiple routine tasks requiring independent exercise of judgment and troubleshoots more complex tasks with independent exercise of judgment.
- Perform duties under no supervision.
- Assist with development and training of employees in the sheet metal department.
Job Requirements:
- Able to stand on concrete 100% of the time, often 10 hours a day.
- Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, holding arms at shoulder height for an extended period of time.
- Uses both hands to lift, place and manipulate material
- Able to lift long and awkward parts weighing up to 50# repeatedly during the day.
- High school Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience minimum using press brake, laser, shear, turret and tape measure.
- Basic math skills
- Problem Solving / Analytical ability
- Perform calculations
- Ability to communicate written and orally
- Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must do a face to face interview before being hired.
- Will need to pass a criminal background check and pre- employment drug screen.
