Position Overview:
Cragun's Resort, a beloved lakeside destination in Brainerd, MN, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Weddings & Signature Events Specialist to lead our wedding sales and planning efforts, while also managing private charter sales for Gull Lake Cruises. This guest-facing role blends creativity, organization, and salesmanship—offering couples and private event clients seamless experiences and unforgettable celebrations. From lakeside vows to sunset cruises, you'll be the go-to expert for making milestone moments come to life.
Weddings & Signature Events (On Land & Water)
- Serve as the main contact for couples and private event clients from inquiry to event completion
- Sell and promote Cragun’s Resort wedding packages and Gull Lake Cruises private charters
- Conduct site and vessel tours, consultations, and contract negotiations
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of weddings and private events—including timelines, menus, logistics, vendor coordination, and accommodations
- Oversee day-of execution to ensure flawless and memorable experiences
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Meet or exceed individual revenue goals for wedding packages and private cruise events.
- Track inquiries, manage CRM systems, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Analyze booking trends and share insights with leadership to improve offerings and maximize results.
Vendor & Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (florists, DJs, photographers, officiants, etc.).
- Serve as a professional, supportive, and responsive liaison for clients before, during, and after their events.
Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support promotional efforts and event-specific campaigns.
- Represent Cragun’s and Gull Lake Cruises at wedding expos, bridal shows, and resort-hosted open houses.
Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Planning, Marketing, or a related field preferred. - Experience:
3-5 years of experience in wedding planning, private event sales, hospitality management. Experience coordinating events on water or in non-traditional venues is a plus. - Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent event planning, time management, and communication skills
- Calm under pressure, resourceful, and solution-focused
- Comfortable using CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and event management software
