Craig Technologies is seeking a candidate to assist NASA personnel in supporting the Astronaut Crew Quarters (ACQ) on-site short-term residence facility with housekeeping services at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall facility housekeeping Services, supply management, and assist with health inspections and preparations.
The Astronaut Crew Quarters Support Person (ACQSP) candidate is responsible for housekeeping care of 23 bedrooms at the KSC ACQ facility along with all common areas. The common areas of the facility include two conference rooms, dining room, kitchen, gym, PIT (communications/TV) room, office areas, suit room, two laundry rooms, hallways, offices, kitchen, and guest bedrooms. This position is a full-time position.
The successful ACQSP candidate must be a highly motivated individual who is capable of working effectively and efficiently both independently and with others. The candidate must be very professional and maintain and protect the privacy of all residents at the facility at all times.
Additional Requirements:
• Provides shift work during launch campaigns to coincide with the crew sleep schedule. Must be able to work through weekends and holidays (including federal holidays), if necessary, to support crew during pre-launch quarantine. Provides laundry services to crew and management during launch campaigns.
• Follows Health Stabilization Plan (HSP) for launches.
• The staff must be available for variable work if notice is provided at least 7 days in advance.
• Performs deep cleanings prior to each launch before microbiological surface samples are taken in random locations within ACQ. Assists with Health inspections preparations and tests.
• Helps the VITO ACQ facility administrative management personnel as needed.
• Must be able to pass a Health Stabilization physical 21 days prior to each crew arrival/45 days prior to each launch (NASA provided physical to comply with the Health Stabilization Plan - up to three times per year) and follow all requirements defined in JSC 22538, Flight Crew Health Stabilization Program for personnel groups in support of U.S. Launches. Must have annual physical required for Quarantine Group C.
• Must provide vaccination records (or produce Titer test paperwork showing immunizations) and be up to date with all required vaccinations as listed in the current version of the JSC 22538 HSP document and accompanying immunization matrix, including Covid and Flu vaccinations.
• Education/Experience Required: Typically requires high school degree or equivalent and 4 years of related experience. Must have background and experience in housekeeping and sanitation skills in a commercial setting such as having worked at least 1 year in a nursing home, assisted living facility or hospital at a minimum.
• Must be able to attain necessary badging and security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
