Detailed Description:
This position provides support to the Procedures Management Group in the NASA JSC Flight Operations Directorate (FOD). Members of the Procedures Management Group work closely with other FOD organizations, Flight Directors, International Partners, commercial partners, and other NASA organizations and centers to produce operational procedures. Position requires a highly motivated and energetic individual willing to learn. The position will require certification as a Procedures Book Manager and certification as an Operations Data File (ODF) Console flight controller, and work as a software developer for Atlas, an in-house automation and utility tool.
Duties will include production of procedures for the ISS and Artemis programs, coordinating technical changes to procedures with flight controllers and crew, developing operations concepts documentation, reviews of procedure change requests, scheduling deliveries, and coordinating with international partners on procedure development and delivery.
Duties will include supporting software requirements for procedures tools and ground procedure support tools, aiding and troubleshooting user and customer issues, and providing software testing and quality assurance support. Individual will be responsible for interfacing with developers and users for requirements and communicating team needs and schedule.
Duties may include additional procedure team support functions, such as serving as a coordinator assigned to specific vehicles or events or a member of the hardcopy procedure fabrication team. This role will perform multiple duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:

Position Requirements:
- Must have at minimum a bachelor’s degree (ABET), in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a similar field of study.
- Experience in software development in Python.
- Experience in object-oriented programming.
- Experience in workflow automation and process improvements.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and team working skills.
- Attention to detail and knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to assigned tasks.
- Strong ability to respond under pressure.
- Candidate must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making and initiative.
- Candidate should be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are required, due to frequent inter-organizational and external customer contacts.
- The candidate must be able to independently gather requirements directly from the customer to fully understand the scope and nature of the task/solution being requested.
- Must be able to independently present technical information and design options to the customer in a clear and informative manner.
