Summary: Craig Technologies has an opening for a Mid/Senior level Microsoft Systems/Data Base Administrator in Sunnyvale, CA. This position will be supporting the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) contract. In this role, you will work in a small IT team including one software developer, one DBA, one IT Lead, and a workstation system admin. You will manage a small Windows Active Directory domain in support of the ASRS program. Candidate must be local to the Sunnyvale CA area.
What you will do:
- Serve as the Windows system administrator and Active Directory administrator for a small network consisting of Windows endpoints, and a mix of Windows and Linux servers.
- Implement and support the integration and deployment of identity and access management solutions, and continuous diagnostic and monitoring solutions, especially NASA enterprise solutions.
- Develop and support PowerShell based scripts, tooling, and applications primarily deployed on Windows.
- Build service delivery mechanisms, including configuration management and continuous delivery (CD) automation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Windows system security matters, specific to NASA.
- Perform system patching and upgrades as a backup to the workstation system administrator.
- Experience in Linux system administration, especially Red Hat Linux is a big plus.
- Perform “Tier 1” help desk support for a user community of approximately 60 users.
- Provide general IT support such as recommendations for IT procurement, support of IT system build, update, system backup, asset management, and other administrative matters.
What you will bring:
- 5 years of experience as a system administrator in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- 5 years management of Windows Active Directory domains. Certifications that demonstrate expertise in this area is desired.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of web servers, clients and browsers, LDAP directories, virtual machine usage.
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts like authentication, authorization, user management, identity store, and federation.
- Practical experience in network-level security such as use of firewalls, switches, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience in meeting FISMA related government security requirements is highly desired.
