Position Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Cooperative's computer systems, networks, and servers. This position ensures the efficient operation of IT infrastructure, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement security measures. This role plays a critical part in supporting daily operations and ensuring data integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
System Maintenance and Upgrades
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, or Mac).
- Apply software updates and patches to keep systems secure and up to date.
- Monitor system performance and address any bottlenecks.
Technical Support
Provide timely technical assistance to end-users.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex problems.User Account Management
Create, modify, and delete user accounts.Manage permissions and access rights.Ensure compliance with security policies.Security and Data Protection
Implement security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.Backup and restore critical data.Network Administration
Maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).Configure IP addresses, Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) settings.Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.Other Related Duties
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Train users on best practices and security awareness.Recommend improvements that can be made in practices, methods, processes, and procedures within the area of this job responsibility.Will properly use and keep in good condition all tools and equipment.Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in a network administration or related role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Desired

Must be available for occasional after-hours support and system maintenance.Must adhere to security and confidentiality policies.Working Conditions and Mental or Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position continuously. Will frequently move inside or outside the office space. Position will continuously operate a computer and other office machinery and communicate with others. Occasionally lifts objects up to 30 pounds. Work is performed indoors.
