Vehicle Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify and acquire high-quality used vehicles through auctions, trade-ins, lease returns, and private sellers.
- Develop relationships with wholesalers, rental agencies, and fleet companies to secure inventory.
- Monitor vehicle availability and pricing in the market to make strategic purchasing decisions.
Inventory Management
- Maintain an optimal mix of used vehicle inventory based on market demand, pricing trends, and dealership sales history.
- Track inventory turnover rates and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Ensure vehicles acquired align with the dealership’s brand standards and customer preferences.
Pricing & Market Analysis
- Conduct market research to determine competitive pricing strategies.
- Utilize valuation tools (e.g., Kelley Blue Book, Black Book, Manheim Market Reports) to assess fair market values.
- Adjust acquisition strategies based on changing market conditions and dealership sales trends.
Trade-In Appraisals & Evaluations
- Assess trade-in vehicles and determine fair offers based on condition, market value, and reconditioning costs.
- Work closely with sales teams to negotiate trade-in values with customers.
- Maximize profit margins by accurately evaluating potential reconditioning expenses.
Relationship Management & Negotiation
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, auction houses, and private sellers.
- Negotiate vehicle purchases to secure the best possible prices and terms.
- Attend industry events and auctions to stay updated on market trends.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all vehicle purchases comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee the proper documentation of acquisitions, including titles, vehicle history reports, and purchase agreements.
- Work with finance and administrative teams to ensure seamless processing of vehicle purchases.
Coordination with Service & Reconditioning Teams
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely inspections and reconditioning of acquired vehicles.
- Assess reconditioning costs and factor them into acquisition decisions.
- Monitor vehicle turnaround times to ensure quick availability for resale.
