Our well-established law firm, serving clients across Litchfield and Fairfield counties, is seeking a Full-Time Legal Assistant / Estate Paralegal to join our busy Estate Planning Department in our Ridgefield, CT office. Position Overview
The Legal Assistant / Estate Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the firm’s estate planning practice, assisting with document drafting, client management, and administrative tasks. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting estate planning documents using firm templates, including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Deeds, and Healthcare Directives
- Prepare and coordinate estate planning document execution with clients
- Open and maintain client files, ensuring all documentation is properly managed
- Support client billing and related administrative functions
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, attorneys, and other professionals
- Perform general office administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Experience in the Trust and Estate field (willing to train the right candidate)
- Paralegal certification or relevant experience in a legal setting
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Knowledge of legal terminology related to estate planning is desirable
