Camp Extended Care Representative – Explore Camp
Cranbrook Institute of Science’s on-site Explore Camps give inquisitive campers the support they need to learn through doing. Campers work together to tackle activities, experiments, and investigations as they explore popular science topics in a unique and safe environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
This position works with campers attending before or after care, manages lunch with campers, and assists directors with camp materials and logistics.
Qualifications Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrated experience working with children such as babysitting, school/church groups or daycare environment.
- Ability to effectively relate to campers, staff, parents, and museum guests.
Preferred: College degree or current college student; at least one years’ experience working with children in a camp/group setting.
Timeframe: Training begins in June; day camp sessions run Monday-Friday starting July 7th to August 1st with the possible opportunity to extend employment through August and beyond. Typically, an 8-hour day with either an AM (Before Care) shift of 7am-3pm or PM (After Care) shift of 10:30am-6:30pm Must be able to work the entire length of camp.
Wage: $16.50/hour
