Create Camps Supervisor manages the daily camp operations and administration to foster a safe environment of innovation and self-expression for students and support camp staff. An ideal candidate is a resourceful and organized educator with endless enthusiasm for working with young artists. Additionally, the Camp Supervisor should possess excellent organizational, communication, resourceful problem-solving, and delegation skills.
Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm; approximately 35 hours/week.
Responsibilities
- Supervise teaching artists, education assistants, activity coordinators, and students.
- Capable of filling in for any museum education staff, including teaching artists if the need arises.
- Manage supply requests, orders, inventory, and material preparations.
- Communicate in a professional manner with parents/guardians, staff, and students.
- Ensure Create Camps provide students with clean, safe, organized, and joyful environment for students, while helping each to achieve the learning objectives set by Cranbrook Art Museum.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Undergraduate degree
- Previous teaching experience working with youth.
- Experience developing lesson plans for artmaking activities.
- Ability to lead indoor and outdoor recreation and classroom activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degree in Fine Arts, Elementary Education, Art Education.
