Summer Swim Team Head Coach Position
Cranbrook Swim Club is a private summer recreation club located in Southfield, Michigan. Cranbrook Swim Club (CSC) is a family friendly facility that offers competitive swim and tennis for children ages 5-18. The club boasts a lap pool, a recreational pool, 4 tennis courts, a large covered pavilion, and open space for families to relax and gather.
The Cranbrook Swim Club is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach for our summer swim team. Our team is part of the Northwest Suburban Swim League. The assistant coach is under the direction of the head coach for 150 kids aged 5-18 years old. The ideal applicant would also work with the rest of the coaching staff, implementing and developing practice routines for all age groups, and assist in creating lineups for all dual and finals swim meets through the season.
This position runs from May through July and is considered a seasonal position with our club.
A successful candidate for this position should be a dynamic and inspiring leader, who is passionate about swimming, and capable of motivating and guiding our swimmers to reach their goals and potential. They should work with the coaching staff to create a unified coaching partnership to improve the health of the team both in numbers and achievement. The candidate will need to have strong organization and communication skills with the ability to remain flexible to changes that may arise during the season.

Practices:
Organizing and supervising practice sessions, setting goals, and creating interesting and challenging practices for all levels of swimmers.
Team building:
Create and build upon a team program that emphasizes sportsmanship, individual and team improvement, fun for all levels of swimmers, and all groups within the team.
Communication:
Maintaining communication with swimmers, parents, officials and other coaches.
Administration:
Working with Swim Chairs and Club Management (when appropriate) to schedule practices, team events, and completing meet entries for all team swim meets.
Staffing:
Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising assistant and junior coaches.
Additional Requirements:
- Comply with Safe Sport guidelines and have certification set by the national center for safe sport;
- Have current CPR and Lifeguarding certification
