Manufacturing Process Engineer

Crane Currency has an immediate opening for a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer based out of our Nashua, NH site.

How You Will Make An Impact

In this role, you will lead continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives, focusing on maximizing yield, reducing equipment downtime, and identifying cost reduction opportunities through innovative production processes. You will collaborate closely with various departments including R&D, Operations, Quality, EH&S, Security, Supply & Chain, and Process Excellence (CBS), to drive excellence in our manufacturing processes.

• Develop processes or standard work to improve functionality and launch new products.
• Oversee project execution to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop process operational standards, including statistical process control opportunities.
• Improve product quality by reducing process variability, reducing downtime, increasing or maintaining speeds (capacity) & increasing yields.
• Improve manufacturing methods and capabilities.
• Work with operations, engineering, QA, maintenance, suppliers, R&D, and management to problem solve and anticipate changes in customer requirements.
• Document scope of work, create action plan, and demonstrate results of improvement.
• Lead/Participate in Kaizen & JDI events.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required

• BS in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering degree or similar discipline or commensurate experience.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Process Engineering or similar function in printing (preferred), coating, web processing or any manufacturing industry.
• Proficient with data analysis, statistics and applied mathematics.
• Demonstrate experience leading or working on critical and high-visibility projects.
• Advanced project management skills and success in managing self-directed projects.
• Experience with Minitab statistical software, Process Mapping and Capability Analysis.
• Involvement in demanding interdisciplinary project roles, including project leader.
• Capable of mentoring/guiding junior Process Engineers or interns.

Preferred

• BS in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Six-Sigma, Lean Concepts and 5S.
